Tattoo Guide

Getting tattoo is an important and exciting moment and at Motorink Tattoo Studio Amsterdam, we understand how much trust it takes to make that decision.

That’s why we put a strong focus on comfort, communication and guidance.

Whether you already have a clear tattoo idea or you’re just starting to explore options, our experienced artists and studio team will guide you through the whole proces calmly and professionally.

Every tattoo at Motorink starts with a free consultation. We take time to talk about your idea, placement and expectations. This is a relaxed conversation- no pressure and no rush.

Our goal is to understand what you’re looking for and help you make confident decisions before moving forward.
During the consultation, you can choose between a custom tattoo design created by our artists or select a design from our extensive Flash Tattoo Design collection (Flashbook).
Both options are carefully discussed so the final choice feels right for you and works well as a first tattoo.
Before tattooing begins, we prepare stencils in three different sizes. This allows us to test how the design looks on your body and adjust placement if needed.
Together, we choose the option that best fits your anatomy and feels most comfortable for you.

Before starting the tattoo, our studio manager will ask you to fill out a medical consent form. This helps us check for any medical contraindications and ensures your safety throughout the process.

Hygiene and professional standards are always a top priority at Motorink.

Our studio is GGD verified.

When the tattooing starts, the artist begins slowly, especially for first-time clients. This helps you get familiar with the sensation and feel more at ease.

You are always welcome to ask for a break. Your comfort matters, and we guide you through the entire process with care and attention.

After your tattoo is finished, we explain exactly how to take care of it during the healing process.

You’ll receive clear aftercare instructions, including cleaning, moisturizing and what to avoid- so your tattoo heals properly and looks great long term.
